But as pointed out by all comrades now, Guerilla warfare is of little relevance to the class struggle. Of technical usefulnness in the case of being underground in the countryside only.

Nontheless a text that is by its necessity, to be read. In the words of a former underground comander (Philippines), "On the tactic of guerillerism, Che got it wrong". Nontheless in the almost exceptional context of the Cuban Revolution this book is a 'must read'!

He and his friend, Alberto Granado (de la Serna) are typical college students who, seeking fun and adventure before graduation, decide to travel across Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Peru in order to do their medical residency at a leper colony. Beginning as a buddy/road movie in which Ernesto and Alberto are looking for chicks, fun and adventure before they must grow up and have a more serious life. As is said in the film itself, it's about "two lives running parallel for a while." The two best friends start off with the same goals and aspirations, but by the time the film is over, it's clear what each man's destiny has become.

This four-song EP is quite a promising little debut, with contemporary harsh EBM sounds tempered by hints of old-school flavor. Opening track "Enemy Inside" starts off with an onslaught of pounding industrial beats and thickly distorted vocals, but unlike many artists in the genre, Social Construct sees fit to keep things sounding a bit crunchy instead of giving into the temptation of overly clean production values.

It's a fitting aesthetic approach that works well with the band's anarchist message. As far as lyrics go, Social Construct is all about unabashed left-wing extremism one track is even entitled "Smash Capitalism" delivered so directly it makes Skinny Puppy's cut-up surrealism look like one of Bush's State of the Union addresses.

Social Construct's message can be summed up with the Denis Diderot quote employed in "No Gods No Masters": "Let us strangle the last king with the guts of the last priest." It's a throwback to the era of more politically inspired, punk-influenced industrial and a refreshing antidote to the meaningless abstractions of so many of today's EBM acts. Don't be mistaken, though; these tracks don't feel like a lecture. They might make you think, but they'll definitely make you dance.

As the title suggests, their rage and contempt for the "fascist" capitalist system in America hadn't declined in the nearly half-decade they were away. Their musical approach didn't change, either. Lead vocalist Zack de la Rocha is caught halfway between the militant raps of Chuck D and the fanatical ravings of a street preacher, shouting out his libertarian slogans over the sonically dense assault of the band. Guitarist Tom Morello demonstrates an impressive palette of sound, creating new textures in heavy metal, which is quite difficult, and de la Rocha's dedication to decidedly left-wing politics is admirable, simply because few other performers of the '90s had made any sort of political stance.

Relativity" is a concept rooted in the tension between appearance and reality, and it reaches far back in history. Heraclitus argued that only change is real; Parmenides argued that change is impossible, and his follower Zeno invented paradoxes illustrating many of the problems in concepts like space, time, and infinity. Protagoras even argued that there is no single, correct view of reality, but that reality for any person is precisely as in seems to that person. In his words, "Man is the measure of all things". Plato used mathematical reasoning to discern reality from mere appearance, and modern natural science emerged from centuries of effort to acquire objective knowledge. The greatest scientists of the Renaissance and Enlightenment - including Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, and Newton - believed that some "real" or "absolute" space and time are independent of the senses. But Immanuel Kant, J.C. Maxwell, Ernest March, and Henri Poincare chipped away at this idea in the 18 and 19th centuries. In 1905, Albert Einstein published his Special Theory of Relativity, followed by the General Theory of Relativity in 1916. He firmly established (1) the idea that all judgement about motion is a matter of perspective; (2) that energy and mass are interrelated (E=mc2); and (3) that nothing can move faster than the speed of light (which does not vary). Einstein's theory of the space - time continuum was dramatically confirmed in a 1919 experiment during a solar eclipse.

Though some questions were left unanswered, this film successfully conveyed a vivid depiction of the struggles faced by young black males in the Baltimore area. As a native Detroiter, I made many connections to the issues facing youth there as well: I worked in Detroit public schools teaching dozens of 8th graders who were reading at a second grade level. What the Baltimore youth are facing is occurring all over our country. The underlying theme here is how the public school systems in inner cities have woefully disadvantaged entire GENERATIONS of black boys and girls. The film has great potential for building awareness, if not for those who are able to create educational systemic changes, at least for the youth who just need someone to believe in them for once.

Simply put, Pepper claims those in power were scared to death of the mass mobilization King's Poor People's Campaign might have inspired. While his moralizing epilogue on the deterioration of democracy is distracting, it is heartfelt, and honors Pepper's commitment to King's legacy.
